The butterfly project was an exhibition at the UN visitors lobby for the remembrance of the children who died in the Holocaust. Each butterfly was done by children all over the world with different medium. There are 1.5 million butterflies on display. Each butterfly represents a child that was killed in the Holocaust, and the various colors represent their story. This was on display in January 2018. It was sponsored by the Houston Holocaust Museum. There were also Holocaust survivors that were present, they were children at the time.
