On August 26th, 2022, Safiyya Sarkin, president and founder of Women Beyond Survival has been given the lifetime achievement award by the President of the United States. Throughout her work in WBS, she selflessly dedicated and committed her life to saving others through her global humanitarian efforts. In the 2010 Haiti earthquake, she slept on the street and administered first aid and deliver medical supplies to the most hard hit areas especially the epicenter of Leogane. She has risked her life on many different occasions in order to make sure somebody else was safe especially with the plight of women and children impacted by war and conflict. She is grateful to Farah Delance Linot and the organizers that put the event together. |
DANNY GLOVER DREAM AWARD - This award was is conjunction with the United Nations Commission on the status of women for humanitarian work dealing with rural women on a global scale. This was held at The African Union on March 23, 2018. |
